  Aircraft Operating Procedures

Authorities at Denver International Airport have developed Denver Municipal Airport System Rules and Regulations, Part 210 Noise Abatement and Runway Procedures, which specifies aircraft operating procedures designed to minimize noise impact in the surrounding area. This rule incorporates a Preferential Runway Use Program for all jet aircraft operating at DIA as well as a more restrictive set of procedures for aircraft types designated by the rule as “Noise Critical.” Application of the procedures contained in the rule has significantly reduced overall noise impact. The DIA Noise Abatement Office continually monitors compliance with these procedures and works with the appropriate organizations or agencies to improve compliance where possible.

  Airport Noise Advisories

The advisories listed below have been issued by the Denver International Airport (DIA) Noise Office. These advisories will keep you informed of activities at DIA that may have an impact on normal aircraft traffic patterns and aircraft noise.

  Reopened to traffic July 2, 2010.

  Recommended Noise Contours for Land Use Planning

Noise contour maps reflect the noise impacts that may be expected from full development of Denver International Airport. The countours are based on current modeling and differ slightly from the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) Composite Contours.

  Noise Working Group

The Noise Working Group is a technical committee whose members include representatives from Denver International Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration and the airlines serving DIA. The group meets as necessary to address noise issues related to DIA aircraft operations and to develop methods to minimize the associated impact.
