Outbound Pena Blvd. Detour Planned for Saturday Night
Workers Setting Girders on New East Line Commuter Rail Bridge

Motorists traveling from Denver International Airport (DIA) on Saturday, May 18 between 11:30 p.m. and 4 a.m. Sunday, May 19 should be alert for detours on outbound Peña Blvd. due to construction on the new East Rail Line. Crews with the Regional Transportation District’s contractor, Denver Transit Partners, will be setting girders on the new commuter rail bridge over Peña Boulevard near the DIA solar farm and employee parking lot. Drivers could encounter delays of up to 15 minutes.
Saturday, May 18 from 11:30 p.m. until 4a.m. Sunday, May 19: All lanes of westbound (outbound) Peña Blvd. will be closed while crews set bridge girders. Traffic traveling from DIA to Peña Blvd. from both the East and West Terminals will be detoured onto New Castle Street, a DIA service Road.
o Motorists traveling from the East Terminal/Garage will turn right onto the detour route after crossing the west terminal access roadway, merge onto New Castle Street, to E. 78th Ave., to Jackson Gap St. where they may access Peña Boulevard.
o Motorists traveling from the West Terminal/Garage will turn right onto the detour route past Oak Hill Street at the designated crossing area, merge onto New Castle Street, to E. 78th Ave., to Jackson Gap St. where they may access Peña Blvd.
Traffic on eastbound (inbound) Pena Boulevard will not be affected
