DIA Unveils Revised Design Concept for South Terminal Redevelopment Program

Today DIA unveiled a revised design concept for the South Terminal Redevelopment Program. The Program is made up of independent yet physically integrated projects, which include the construction of a planned 500-room Westin hotel and conference center, an RTD FasTracks commuter rail station and improvements to the existing concourse baggage and train systems. In addition, the program includes an open-air plaza, complete with new concessions and leasable space, which connects the development to the existing Jeppesen Terminal. The new design is very similar to the concept that was revealed in July 2010. DIA’s architectural design team – led by Gensler Architects, along with AndersonMasonDale Architects - maintained all of the critical Program elements and refined the original Santiago Calatrava rendering, removing signature elements that were unique to his vision.
