On-Call Life Safety Design

Description: The Department of Aviation for the City and County of Denver is requesting proposals for the purposes of selecting a firm(s) to provide tasked based life safety and fire protection design and support services for tenant/airline improvement projects, construction administration support for life safety construction projects, and other life safety assignments that may be required. These services will include commissioning, testing, special inspections, evaluations and studies, preliminary and detailed designs, site surveys, construction documents, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction administration for various life safety system additions, improvements, and modifications for fire and life safety systems including fire alarm, emergency communication, fire suppression, and smoke control systems. Services also include life safety code compliance consulting and accessibility consulting services.

Documents Available: Request for Proposal (RFP) documents will be available on the DEN Contract Procurement website at http://business.flydenver.com/bizops/rfp.asp by April 10, 2017.

Proposals Due: Proposals in response to the RFP will be due no later than 2:00 PM, LOCAL TIME, MAY 9, 2017 and must be submitted to LaQuisha Shaw, Business Management Services Office, Room 8810, Denver International Airport, 8500 Pena Blvd., Denver, CO 80249.

Pre-Proposal Conference: A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held at 10:00 a.m., local time, April 18, 2017 in the triple wide trailer, located within the DEN South Campus at 7128 North Trussville Street, Unit A, Denver, CO 80249 (F.K.A. 27301 E. 71st Ave, Unit #2).

Minority Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise Participation: Professional design and construction services contracts made and entered into by the City and County of Denver are subject to Article III, Divisions 1 and 3 of Chapter 28 of the Denver Revised Municipal Code (D.R.M.C.), and all Minority Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise Utilization adopted by the Director of the Division of Small Business Opportunity (DSBO).

Article III, Divisions 1 and 3 of Chapter 28 of the D.R.M.C. directs the Director of DSBO to establish a project goal for expenditures on professional design and construction services work contracted by the City and County of Denver. The specific goal for this project is 0% Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation.

While there is no goal assigned to this project, the City and County of Denver encourages, but does not require, participation of independent partnerships with SBEs, MBEs, WBEs, and other business enterprises in supply chain activities, prime/subcontractor partnerships, and joint ventures for all contracts and purchase orders. Failure to participate or disclose this information will not impact the award of the contract or purchase order. Voluntary disclosure of such independent partnerships to the City, if any, will be forwarded the DSBO for recording purposes only.
